Conference Report for "On the Concept of Imagination"

Die interdisziplinäre Konferenz „On the Concept of Imagination“ stellte die zweite Veranstaltung einer dreiteiligen Workshopreihe dar, die thematisch an das Auftakttreffen mit dem Titel „On the Concept of Speculation“ (11.–12. Dezember 2024, Gießen) anschloss.
Veranstaltet wurde die Tagung von der DFG-geförderten Forschungsgruppe „Economic Agnosticism. Doubting Economic Knowledge in 19th-Century Literature and Sociology“, die von Kirsten von Hagen, Professorin für französische und spanische Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft am Institut für Romanistik und Andreas Langenohl, Professor für Allgemeinen Gesellschaftsvergleich am Institut für Soziologie der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, geleitet wird.
Im fachübergreifenden Dialog diskutierten und analysierten die Teilnehmenden, inwiefern Imagination nicht nur als ästhetische, sondern auch als epistemische Praxis verstanden werden kann und wie dadurch neue Perspektiven auf (historische) Konstellationen ökonomischen Wissens entstehen können.
