Jahrhunderts" or "klischeehafter Eigenbrötler" (ibid.). For the reader Ranke appears at first as a bulky personality whose posthumous legacy would suffocate through its own monumentality (see p. 7). Despite these difficulties, the author succeeds with an interesting approach. ER -
