Abstract

232 pages strong and published by the English philologist Maren Bonacker in 2007, Das Kind im Leser - Phantastische Texte als all-ages-Lektüre (The child within the reader - Fantastic texts as all-ages literature) contains the proceedings of the research symposium "Pinocchio's Friends", which took place from 7-9 May 2004 in Gießen. The 15 articles from 14 authors are mainly about popular books from the widely ramified realm of the Fantastic respective to fantastic literature. The array includes everything from picture books to comics and modern genre classics like the Harry Potter series. In a convincing way it is demonstrated that the definite separation between children's and adults' literature seems to be a thing of the past. More and more authors and publishers are resorting to making their works more appealing to all ages by using paratextual double- or multi-addressing.
