The anthology Der Europäer – ein Konstrukt. Wissensbestände, Diskurse, Praktiken (The European as Construct. Fields of Knowledge, Discourses, Practices) edited by Lorraine Bluche, Veronika Lipphardt and Kiran Klaus Patel presents thirteen case studies of European identity concepts within the last hundred years. Although the volume can only deliver selected insights into the inexhaustible construct of Europeanness, varying in their national origin, background discourse and political context, the papers are intriguing and show the breadth and complexity of the research field.
